"Android reviews are overwhelmingly negative, highlighting crashes, loading hangs, missing poll functionality and algorithmic feed problems, with a few isolated positive remarks; iOS lacks any user‑review data, preventing a comparable assessment."

"SO tired of having to change the comment sorting in EVERY THREAD even though I have my preferred comment sort already selected in settings. Whatever nonsense experiment you're doing with comment sorting that overrides a users pre-selected setting is just aggravating and upsetting people. You don't believe me? Search your own site about it and you'll find plenty of complaints in that regard all around."

"The app adds nothing to my life and just aggravates me. I want to causally browse Reddit in my browser on occasion, not download a bloated and slow app with confusing UI. But I can’t read a single thing online without the stupid app!"

APP REVIEW – POSTGRESQL

"I just had a crazy, yet eye opening experience with the Reddit app. Apparently, I’ve been targeted by a mod of r/Roku. They banned me temporarily, then permanently for “piracy”. Incredibly confusing since the word or concept never entered a conversation. I messaged the mods to ask what’s up, thinking there was a mistake. The mod that replied grilled me about how I acquired my personal media collection, which is something I had discussed with another user. The mod was snotty and accusatory. When I realized the conversation wasn’t going anywhere, I felt I’d been debased by them, so I called them an uptight freak. Blocked and banned, as expected. Good riddance. (It’s my understanding that Roku has official customer support through this subreddit, and I wonder if they know there are psychopaths harassing their customers). After a while, I let my niece use my phone to access her Reddit account. Completely different account, username, email address… I guess she answered a question on r/Roku - with no restrictions or black marks on her account - and BOTH of our accounts were banned for a week. They accused me of trying to circumvent the block from r/Roku. So much drama! It’s absolutely demented that Reddit is tracking devices linked to accounts and implementing “punishment”. The entire platform is riddled with bots, trolls, scammers, perverts, underaged girls (who are probably trafficked) promoting their OnlyFans… I spend the majority of my time on Reddit offering advice and support for mental health, addiction and pet medical issues. Yeah, I’m a real evil character. I resent being bullied by the r/Roku mod and I’m deeply disturbed that Reddit enforces that type of behavior while violating me and my family’s privacy by keeping weirdly close tabs on my device."

"It’s Almost Impressive How Bad This App Has Become I’ve seen companies make questionable decisions, but Reddit deserves some kind of lifetime achievement award for its unwavering commitment to making its own product progressively worse. Every update feels like a practical joke that nobody bothered to explain. The interface becomes more cumbersome, navigation gets less intuitive, and features that previously worked are either broken, buried, or inexplicably removed. It’s as if Reddit’s development team has declared war on basic usability, and unfortunately, they’re winning. The video player is a technological embarrassment. The advertisements are relentless. The recommendations are laughably irrelevant. And the overall user experience feels like it was designed by a committee of executives who have never actually opened the app but are extremely enthusiastic about quarterly revenue projections. What’s truly remarkable is Reddit’s ability to consistently ignore what makes its platform valuable: its users. Reddit doesn’t create the discussions. Reddit doesn’t provide the answers. Reddit doesn’t generate the communities that attract millions of people. Its users do. Yet somehow, the company has convinced itself that the best business strategy is to make accessing that user-generated content as irritating as humanly possible. Every unnecessary redesign screams, “We have absolutely no idea what our customers want, but our shareholders are going to love this.” At this point, I’m genuinely curious whether Reddit employs a quality assurance department or simply releases updates and waits for users to identify which features they’ve managed to destroy. The app isn’t evolving. It’s deteriorating with a marketing budget. And the saddest part? Reddit used to be genuinely enjoyable. It was a place to discover interesting discussions, learn something new, and interact with communities built around shared interests. Now it feels like scrolling through a digital landfill while being repeatedly interrupted by advertisements. Reddit’s leadership should seriously consider putting the development team in charge of fixing the app instead of finding new and innovative ways to aggravate the people using it. If the objective was to demonstrate how corporate greed, terrible design decisions, and an astonishing disconnect from your user base can ruin a beloved platform, congratulations. Mission accomplished. I’d give this app zero stars, but apparently even the App Store has higher minimum standards than Reddit’s development team."
